Step 2: Select Interior or Exterior

All colors are available in both interior and exterior paints. The differences between interior and exterior paint is within the paint formulation. These differences are invisible to the naked eye, but they are still important. Read more about the difference between interior and exterior paint here.

Interior Paints: interior paint is formulated to withstand conditions of the interiors of your home and office. Interior paint is great for the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, hallways, and anywhere else on the inside.

Exterior Paints: exterior paint is specifically formulated to endure the conditions of the outside world. If you are painting the outside of your home, like a porch, patio, or siding, you need to use exterior paint.

Step 3: Select a Paint Finish

When choosing between eggshell and semi-gloss, consider the desired aesthetic and functionality of the space to achieve the perfect balance of style and durability.

Eggshell Paint: eggshell paint offers a subtle sheen that falls between matte and satin finishes, providing a soft, velvety appearance ideal for interior walls and surfaces. Its low luster finish helps to conceal minor imperfections on any surface.

Semi-Gloss Paint: semi-gloss paint delivers a higher sheen level, offering a smooth, reflective surface that is highly durable and easy to clean. Semi-gloss paint is often preferred for trim, doors, and high-traffic areas due to its resistance to moisture, stains, and wear.

Step 4: Select How Much Paint

When it comes to paint, you have three size options: pint sample, quart, and gallon.

Pint Sample: a pint of paint will cover 50-55 square feet. The pint sample is typically purchased to see how a color looks on the surfaces in your home or office. The pint sample is also used as backup touch-up paint for a color already on your walls.

Quart: a quart of paint will cover 100-115 square feet. If you are painting a closet, trim only, or a small accent wall, a quart may suffice.

Gallon: a gallon of paint will cover 400-450 square feet. A single gallon is enough for a small room.

Step 5: Add Paint to Your Cart
